Andrew founded Skypix Aerial Photography LTD back in the UK January 2000, (after 10 years working within the financial services and real estate industry) then moving both family and business to NZ on the North Shore of Auckland in November 2012.

With a vast amount of experience in both life and work, I have grown up around an engineering and building background, moving into running my own real estate agency branch in my home village, then eventually running over 26 branches of real estate agencies throughout the south of the U.K.

I developed a passion for DSLR photography with lead into Aerial Photography within the real estate world. This created the opportunity to form Skypix Aerial Photography LTD, which has progressed from fixed wing DSLR aerial photography, to helicopter DSLR aerial photography to drone photography and videography. This is not a job, but a passion, for which we believe you will see for yourself the combination of experience, an eye for detail, drive, determination and passion in the results for you to admire. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT ?

WE FLY DRONES WHERE OTHERS CAN’T ! OR CAN’T BE BOTHERED GAINING AUTHORISATION !!

Skypix Photography fly our equipment in accordance with subpart A and E of the Part 101 Rule set out by the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, whom we regularly liaise with.

Large areas of Manukau City, Waitakere City and the North Shore are categorised as controlled airspace by Airways NZ and require authorisation from Air Traffic Control to legally operate any form of remotely controlled aerial vehicle inside of.

To understand how much of the region this CAA rule excludes, it means no flying without such licence can be legally permitted within 4 kilometres of Parakai Airfield, Dairy Flat Airfield, Whenuapai Air Base, Auckland Harbour Waterdrome, Mechanics Bay Heliport, ASB Bank Centre Heliport, Pikes Point Heliport, Auckland International Airport, Waiheke Airfield, Ardmore Airport as well as the helipads at North Shore Hospital, Auckland Hospital and Middlemore Hospital.

Experience – SkyPix was established in 2012 to provide professional imaging services. In that time SkyPix has safely completed many hundreds of flights for a diverse range of clients.

Customer Service – We strive to deliver the highest possible level of service, with prompt replies and offering advice to those who are unsure of how to proceed.

Compliance and Insurance – We offer a service compliant with CAA regulations. Flights are logged with Airshare and when required we are in direct contact with air traffic control for co-ordination and clearance of flights. This means you don’t have to worry about breaking any airspace rules – we take care of all clearances beforehand. We have full comprehensive insurance cover including public liability cover.

Safety – Personal safety and protection of property is a top priority. We have safety checks and procedures we follow both pre and post flight. In most cases, SkyPix has two people on site, the pilot as well as an observer for public safety. Every operation is evaluated and if we feel that a job is unsafe due to weather conditions or high risk, we maintain the right to cancel or postpone the service.
